About RetroReady
A retro game scanner for the games on your shelf, made by an independent developer.
Who makes it
RetroReady is made by Francesco Noferi in Italy. It is not affiliated with Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Microsoft or any game publisher; their names are used only to say which games the app recognises. Write to support@retroready.app.
How the app's answers are made
When you scan a game, AI models read your photos and write down what they see: the title, the product code, the badges and stickers, and what they point to. The app shows those clues next to every answer. The fun facts it shows ("Did you know") come only from reference pages we checked. Follow-up answers (the deep dives and your questions) are written by AI and are not fact-checked, and the app says so.
How this site's guides and posts are made
Guides are written from facts we checked by hand against the pages they come from: each fact is stored with the exact words of its source, and every claim on the page links to that source. Blog posts are drafted with AI from reference pages, then every claim is checked against its source's own words before it is published; claims that fail the check are removed. Illustrations on the blog are AI-generated and labelled as such: they are never used to show what a real cartridge, disc or box looks like.
